About IPRC

IPRC, established in 2018 as a non-profit organisation, is the only accrediting body for Public Relations (PR) communications in Zimbabwe. The Institute’s objective is to establish growth for Zimbabwe’s PR industry through knowledge acquisitions, networking, and exchanging of new ideas. The Institute continually strives to be the leading regional PR organisation that will not only elevate the profession but also set industry standards and increase public recognition of this profession.

The IPRC has, since 2018, focused on providing a solid foundation of conceptual knowledge as well as ground expertise for public relations practitioners who wish to upgrade their skills, and for those aspiring to join the communications industry. The Institute promotes excellence in the industry through education, and designs programmes and courses that are aligned with the many changes and developments in the practice of Public Relations and Communications.

The Institute now has a membership base that is about 500-strong and growing. It consists of professionals from a variety of backgrounds – Public Relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, education and management. The IPRC welcomes members from diverse backgrounds, a factor that has contributed to the Institute’s strength and dynamism.

The IPRC introduced the Awards in 2019 to recognise and reward excellence in Public Relations and Communications in Zimbabwe and the region. The IPRC Awards are presented biennially to encourage creativity and originality and to promote the best application of Public Relations and Communications practices across all sectors of the economy.
